(1) The State Government may, from time to time, issue to the Board such directions, consistent with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder, as that Government thinks fit in matters of ploicy connected with any port and port services and the functioning of the Board including financial management, and it shall be obligatory for the Board to comply with such directions: Provided that the Board shall be given an opportunity to express its views before any such direction is given. 326 The West Bengal Maritime Board Act, 2000.
