Section 33

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the first State Council shall be appointed by the State Government from amongst the law clerks who, on the date of appointment, are entitled to practise as law clerk at any place within West Bengal. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the term of office of the first State Council appointed by the State Government shall be two years from the date of the first meeting of the State Council: Provided that such members shall continue to hold office until the State Council is reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
