(I) The Finance Officer shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the. Executive Council on the recommendation of a Committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman, two nominees of the Executive Council, a nominee of the Chancellor and a nominee of the State Government, for such period and on such terms and conditions .as may he prescribed by Statutes. (2) The Finance Officer may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice-Chancellor. (3) If the Finance Officer is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers or perform the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor may, with the approval of the Executive Council, appoint a person temporarily for a total period not exceeding six months, to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Finance Officer.
