in section 172,— (1) for sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely "(1) The valuation of any land or building situated in the several wards, which has been made before the date of the constitution of the Corporation and which is in force on such date, shall remain in force and be deemed to be the valuation for the purpose of assess- ment of consolidated rate on such land or building under this Act until a fresh valua- tion is made under this Act." ; (2) sub-section (2A) shall be omitted; (3) in sub-section (3),— (0) in clause (1),— (1) for the words "Board of Trustees for the Improvement of Calcutta", the words "Board of Trustees for the Improvement of Howrah" shall be substituted; 12 • The HolOrah Municipal Act, 1965. [West Ben. Act (Schedule B.) (ii) for the words, figures and letter "section 35D of the Calcutta Improvement Act, 1911", the words and figures "sub-section (2) of section 33 of the Howrah Improvement Act, 1956" shall be substituted; (1)) in clause (g),— (i) for the words "Board of Trustees for the Improvement of Calcutta", the words "Board of Trustees for the Improvement of Howrah" shall be substituted; (ii) for the words, figures and letter "section 35D of the Calcutta Improvement Act, 1911", the words and figures "sub-section (2) of section 33 of the Howrah Improvement Act, 1956" shall be substituted; (iii) in sub-clause (i), for the words and figures "Calcutta Improvement Act, 1911", the words and figures "Howrah Improvement Act, 1956" shall be substituted; (c) in the Explanation., for the words and figures "Calcutta Improvement Act, 1911", the words and figures "Howrah Improvement Act, 1956" shall be substituted; and (4) after sub-section (4), the following sub-section shall be added, namely: — "(5) Any agency appointed by the State Govern- ment under sub-section (2) shall be paid monthly out of the Municipal Fund at such rate as may be fixed by the State Govern- ment." ;
