(1) The Hotel Authority shallconsi (a) a Chairman, (b) a Vice-Chairman, and (c) five other members, to be appointed by the State Government. st of the following members:— Composition of the Hotel Authority. (2) The Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and five other members shall be nominated by the State Government of whom:— (a) one shall be chosen from among persons associated with any of the banks specified in column 2 of the First Schedule 22 of 1969. to the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1969, 99 The Great Eastern Hotel (Acquisition of Undertaking) Act, 1980. (b) one shall be chosen from among persons activity engaged in business as hoteliers, and (c) one shall be chosen from among persons connected with the tourism industry as travel agents or otherwise, (3) The Chairman shall exercise such powers and discharge such duties as may be prescribed. (4) The Vice-Chairman shall exercise such powers and discharge such duties as may be delegated to him by the Chairman and shall, during the absence of the Chairman, exercise the powers and discharge the duties of the Chairman. (5) The members referred to in sub-section (3) shall hold office for a term of two years computed from the date of their appointment by the State Government and shall receive such fees for attending the meetings of the Hotel Authority or of any committee thereof as may be prescribed. (6) No act or proceedings of the Hotel Authority or of any committee thereof shall be invalid or called in question by reason merely of any vacancy, initial or subsequent, in, or any defect in the constitution of, the Hotel Authority or any committee thereof.
