(1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Fire Services Act, 1950. (2) It extends to the whole of West Bengal. (3) It shall come into force in such local areas and on such dates as the State Government hay, by notification from time to time in- the Official Gazette, direct; and the State Government may by like notification withdraw this Act from any such local area.
