(1) The State Government may, if it is of opinion that it is necessary or expedient in the public interest so to do, by notification, include any area in, or enlarge any area of, the East Kolkata wetlands and, thereupon, Schedule I and Schedule II shall be deemed to have been amended accordingly. (2) Every notification issued under sub-section (1) shall, as soon as may be after it is issued, be laid before the State Legislature.
