The West Bengal Duty on Inter-State River Valley Authority Electricity Act, 1971, as in force immediately before the commencement of this Act, is hereby re-enacted. REASONS FOR THE RE-ENACTMENT The West Bengal Duty on Inter-State River Valley Authority Electricity Act, 1971 was enacted by the President as a President's Act for levying and collecting duty on the consumption of electricity generated and sold by the Damodar Valley Corporation, an inter-S tate River Valley Authority. The Act also validates the past collections of such duties.
