(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 27, until the constitution of a Selection Committee referred to therein, a University Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor shall be appointed by the Diamond Harbour Women's University Council, referred to in sub-section (1) of section 56 on the recommendation of a Selection Committee, constituted by the said Council in such manner as it thinks fit, which shall PART III] THE KOLKATA GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, JANUARY 28, 2013 19 Letter of Appointment of Teachers, Officers and Employees. (Chapter M. —Authorities of the University.—Sections 30-33.) include as its member at least one person, not holding any office of profit under the University and having special knowledge of the subject which the Professor or the Associate Professoror the Assistant Professor, as the case may be, will teach, nominated by the Chancellor. (2) If the Diamond Harbour Women's University Council does not accept the recommendation of the Selection Committee the provision of sub-section (2) of section 28 shall apply mutatis mutandis.
