The appointment of the President under clause (a) of sub-section Term of office of the (1) of section 4 shall be for such period as the State Government may President. specify in this behalf, but the State Government may extend the period from time to time so, however, that the total period of appointment does not exceed four years from the date of first appointment and on the expiration of the said period or the extended period, if any, the President may be re-appointed.
