(1) Nothing in this Act shall be construed as render- ing unlawful any dealing with, or with any part of, the body of any deceased person which would have been lawful it this Act had not been passed. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 297 of the Indian Penal Code, an authority for the removal of the eyes from the body of a. deceased person given in accord- ance with. the provisions of this Act or the removal of the eyes from the body of the deceabRd person in pursuance of such authority shall not be deemed to be an offence punish- able under the said section.
