The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in any other law for the time being in force or in any judgement, decree or order of any court, tribunal or other authority or in any instrument having effect by virtue of any law other than this Act. Some actions have been taken in accordance with some of the provisions of the West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1983 as amended from time to time, and the West Bengal Co-operative Societies Rules, 1987. These provisions were not, however, brought into force by any formal Notification as required under the law. Hence such actions were not valid in the eye of law.
