A co-operative society may invest or deposit its funds— (a) in a Government Savings Bank; or (b) in any of the securities specified in section 20 of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882; or (c) with the sanction of the Registrar, in the shares or debentures or on the security of any other co-operative society with limited liability: Provided that no such sanction shall be necessary when a primary society invests or deposits its funds in the shares or debentures of a central or an apex society, or a central or an apex society invests or deposits its funds in the shares or debentures of a primary society; or (d) in any other manner prescribed. 2 of 1882. 192 The West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1973.
