(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Registration Act, 1908, it shall not be necessary for a Trustee or for any officer of t6 of 1908. a co-operative land development bank, central co-operative bank, primary co-operative credit society, central co-operative land development bank, apex housing society, or any other class of co-operative society that may be prescribed to appear in person or by agent at any registration office in any proceeding connected with the registration of any instrument executed by him in his official capacity or to sign as provided in section 58 of that Act. 226 The West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1973. XXXVIII of 1973.] (Chapter XII.—Special provisions for co-operative land development bank, central co-operative bank, primary co-operative credit society and apex housing society.—Section 119.) (2) Where any instrument is so executed, the registering officer to whom such instrument is presented for registration may, if he thinks fit, refer to the Trustee or to such officer for any information respecting the same, and on being satisfied of the execution thereof, shall register the instrument.
