(1) The Health Officer of the Corporation shall be the Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths in Chandernagore and shall keep in such form as may from time to time be prescribed by the State Government a register of births and deaths occuring in Chandernagore. (2) The Corporation shall appoint a person to be the Registrar of Births and Deaths for each borough and may appoint the same person to be such Registrar for more than one borough. (3) The Chief Executive Officer shall appoint a Sub-Registrar of Births and Deaths for each registered burial or burning ground or other place for the disposal of the dead to register all corpses brought thereto for interment or cremation or for disposal otherwise. (4) The Chief Executive Officer shall cause to be printed and published a list containing the name and address of every Registrar and Sub-Registrar appointed under this section. (5) On an application from a person interested, the Chief Registrar or the Registrar shall issue an extract from an entry of birth or death in the register of births and deaths on payment of such fee as may be determined by regulation. (6) The State Government may prescribe the person by whom an information relating to birth and death should be given to the Corporation.
