(1) The Governor of West Bengal shall be the Chancellor

(1) The Governor of West Bengal shall be the Chancellor. Chancellor of the University. He shall, by virtue of his office, be the head of the University and the President of the Senate and shall, when present, preside at meetings of the Senate including any Convocation of the University. (2) The Chancellor shall exercise such powers as may be conferred on him by or under the provisions of this Act. (3) Where power is conferred upon the Chancellor to nominate persons to authorities, the Chancellor shall, to the extent necessary, nominate persons to represent interests not otherwise adequately represented.
