(1) Save as otherwise provided, every salaried Teacher or other employee holding a post carrying a saiary not below one hundred rupees of the University shall be appointed under a written contract. The contract shall be lodged with the Registrar of the University and a copy thereof. shall be furnished to the Teacher or the employee concerned. (2) Every person who immediately before the appointed day was a Teacher or a servant of the University of Calcutta as constituted prior to that date shall on and from that date be deemed to be appointed to the corresponding post under the University on the same terms and conditions on which he was holding the post immediately before such date. Explanation.—In this section and elsewhere in this Act the expression "employee of the University" does not include the Officers referred to in section 7.
