The Senate may, on the recommendation of not less than two-thirds of the members of the Syndicate, remove with the concurrence of the Chancellor the name of any person from the register of graduates and remove any person from membership of any authority of the University if he has been convicted by a court of law of what in the opinion of the Senate is a serious offence involving moral turpitude, and for the same reasons may withdraw any degree or diploma conferred or granted by the University on such person. The Senate may also remove any person from the member- ship of any authority of the University if he becomes of unsound mind or a deaf-mute or has applied to be adjudicated or has been adjudicated a bankrupt or insolvent.
