(1) This Act may be called the Calcutta Sheriff's Act, 1948. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Provin- cial Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. Z. In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in Definition. the subject or context, "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
