[1) Every notice, bill, summons requisition or other document Service of required or authorised by this Act or lhe rules or the regulations made nollccs-clc thereunder io be served or issued by or on behalf of the Corporations or by any of lhe municipal authorities referred to in scction 3 or any officer, or employee of the Corporation shall, save as otherwise provided in this Aci or the rules or lhe regulations, made lhereunder be deemed lo be duly served— (a) where lhe person Lo be served is a company, i f ihe document is addressed to lhe secrelaiy of the company at its regislered office or al ils principal office or place of business and is either— (i) senL by regislered post, or (ii) delivered aL the regislered office or at Lhc principal office or placc or business of the company; (b) where Lhe person to be served is a partnership, if lhc document is addressed Lo Lhc partnership at ils principal place of business identifying it by Lhe name or style under which ils business is carried on, and is either—- (i) sent by registered post, or (ii) delivered al the said placc of business; (c) where lhe person io be served is a public body Corporation, society or other body, ir lhe document is addressed lo Lhe secretary, treasurer or other officer of such body, Corporation or socieiy at its principal office, and is either— (i) sent by registered post, or (ii) delivered at ihal office; [Wesl Ben. (2) Any document required or authorised lo be served on the owner or lhc occupier of any land or building may be addressed lo "lhe owner" or "lhe occupicr", as lhe case may be, of such land or building (naming such land or building) wilhoui further name or description, and shall be deemed lo be duly served,— (a) if lhe document so addressed is seni or delivered in accorcfancc with clause (d) of sub-scclion (1); or (b) if the document or a copy thereof so addressed, is delivered lo some person on the land or lhe building or, where there is no such person to whom il can be delivered, is affixed to some conspicuous part or such land or building. (3) Where a document is served on a partnership under this section, the document shall be deemed lo be duly served on each partner. (4) For lhe purpose or enabling any document Lo be served on the owner of any premises, the Municipal Commissioner may by notice in writing require the occupier of such premises Lo stale Lhe name and address of Lhe owner thereof. (5) Where the person on whom a document is Lobe served is a minor, the service upon his guardian orany adult member of his family shall be deemed to be scrvice upon llie minor, (6) Nothing in sections 555 and 556 and in lhis seciion shall apply LO any summons issued under this Acl by any court.
