(I) The Municipal Commissioner may, by a written notice, require ihc owner of any building lo submit, within fifteen days from lhe dale or scrvicc of lhe notice, a signed statement with returns giving the following particulars with respcct lo such building or part I hereof:— (a) total ptol area on which lhe building slands and the abuiiing open area; (b) loial covered area of ihc building; (c) dciuils of sub-division of the building into dwelling unils fluis or apartments; (d) floor area under dffereni occupancies and nature of such occupancies in terms or the use or occupancy groups defined in this Act; (e) any oihtr information lhat may be specified. (2) The Municipal Commissioner may, by a separate notice require the occupicrof a building or any portion thereof to submit wilhin fifteen days from Ihc dale of servicc of the notice a signed staicmenl containing such in formation as may be required in ilie noiice for Lhe portion occupied by him, (3) The Municipal Commissioner may, if Lhe owner fails lo submit the reiurn under sub-seciion (1), engage a Licenced Building Architect to collect such information, and the expenses incurred in this behalf shall be recovered from the owner as an arrear of tax under lhis Act.
