(1) No person oLher than the Municipal Commissioner or an officcr or other employee of the Corporation shall, without the written permission of the Municipal Commissioner or without other lawful authority,— (a) open, break up, displace, take up or make any alteration in, or cause any injury to, lhe soil or pavement or any wall, fence, post, chain or other material or thing forming pun of any street; or (b) deposit any building materials in any slreel; or (c) set up in any street any scaffold or any temporary erection for the purpose of any work whatsoever, or any posts, bars, rails, boards or other Lhings by way oT an enclosure for the purpose of making mortar or depositing bricks, lime, rubbish or other materials. (2) Any permission granted under clause (b) or clausc (c) or subsection (1) may be terminated by the Municipal Commissioner after giving nol less than iwenly-Faur hours' written nolice to the person to whom such permission was granted. (3) The Municipal Commissioner may, without notice, cause to be removed anything, referred to in clause (b) or clausc (c) of sub-section (1), which has been deposited or set up in any street without any permission under ihni sub-section or which having been deposited or set up with such permission has not been removed before Lhc expiry of the period of notice issued under sub-section (2): Provided Ihni nothing in this sub-seclion shall apply to any case under clause (b) or clause (c) of sub-section (I}, if in such case, an application for permission has been made with such fee as specified by Lhe Municipal Commissioner in ihis behalf" but no reply has been sent LO lhe applicant within seven days from the date of the application.
