Notwithstanding anything contained in thisAci or Lhe regulations made thereunder or any usage, custom or agreement, where in lhe opinion of the Municipal Commissioner any trade premises are wilhoul sufficient means nf effectual drainage of irade effluent or the drains thereof, though otherwise unobjectionable, are nut adopted Lo Lhe general drainage system of 'f Kolkata], Ihe Municipal Cummissionermay by written notice require the owner or occupier of stieh premises— {a) lo discharge the Irade effluent in such manner, at such times, through such drains and subjeel lo such conditions as may be specified in the notice and to cease lo discharge ihc trade effluent otherwise than in accordance wilh the noiice; {b) to purify ihe trade efffuent before its discharge imo a municipal drain and to sel up Tor purifying the trade effluent such appliances, apparatus, fillings and pi an I as may be specified in the notice; (c) io construct a drain of such material, size and description and laid at such level and according to such alignment and with such Tall and outlet as may be specified in the noiice; {d) lo alter, amend, repair or renovate any purification planl, existing drains, apparatus, plant- lilting or article used in connection wilh ;my municipal or house- drain. foot-note 2 on p-igc: 573. mile. 726 The Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act, 1980. 30 of 1934.
