Miscellaneous and transitory provisions.—Seel ions 635A, 636.) :(h) lhe provisions of sections 216, 222, 229 (read wiih Schedule VIIIA), 437, 442, 451, 460, 469 and 537 of Lhe '[Kolkata] Municipal Act, 1951 shall continue io remain in force and shall be deemed always lo have conlinued to remain in force unlil corresponding provisions are made by lhe Corporation by regulation in conformity wiih the provisions of this Act. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Acl, any assessmenl of lands and buildings in respeci of ihe whole orany area included within the limits of'IKolkata], which, immediately before Lhe coming inlo forcc of this Acl, was comprised in any municipality, shull continue to remain in force until assessment in respect of such lands and buildings is made under this Act, and (he payment of lhe consolidated rule, or of any amouni entered in lhe preceding assessment list, for any such land or building for any period prior to lhe lsl day of April, 1984 shall be made in accordancc wiih the provisions of the Bengal Municipal Acl, 1932: Provided lhat any applicalion Tor review under section 148 or the Bengal Municipal Acl, 1932 oflhe assessment as aforesaid pending before the Commissioners of any such municipality immediately before the coming inlo force of this AcL shall be determined in accordance with such order as lhe SLaLe Governmeni may make from Lime lo time, and the payment of the amouni assessed after such determination shall be made in accordance with Lhe provisions of that Act, 636, J(l) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained elsewhere in this Acl, lhe Stale Government may appoint a person to be called the Administrator to exercise all the powers and discharge all the runclions of the municipal authorities mentioned in seciion 3 for the period from lhe dale of coming into force of this AcL till Lhe first meeting of the Corporation aL which a quorum is present. s(2) The Administrator appointed under sub-seclion (1) may constitute such number of CommiLLees and for such period as he may deem fit. s(3) Each such Committee shall consist of not more Lhun iwenty-five persons, appointed on sucli terms and conditions as Lhc Administrator may deem fit, and shall advise the Administrator in the discharge of his funclions under this Act. 888 The Kolkata Municipul Corporalion Aci, 1980.
