(1) The State Government may, from time to time, by notification in the Official Gazette and in such other manner as it may determine, include within, or exclude from, the Calcutta Metropolitan Planning Area, any area or areas to be specified in the notification and, for this purpose, alter, add to or cancel any part of the Schedule. (2) All references to the Schedule which may be amended under this section shall be construed as references to the Schedule as for the time being so amended. THE SCHEDULE "Calcutta Metropolitan Planning Area" comprises the areas included within the boundaries of the Calcutta Metropolitan District and of the Haldia Area specified below except that it does not comprise any area included in a cantonment declared as such under section 3 of the Cantonments Act, 1924.
