(1) The Registrar shall be a wholetime officer of the University. He shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendation of a committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman, a nominee of the Chancellor, two nominees of the Executive Council and a nominee of the State Government. (2) The Registrar may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice-Chancellor. (3) If the Registrar is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers or perform the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor, with the approval of the Executive Council, may appoint a Teacher of the University or an officer of the University temporarily for a total period not exceeding six months to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Registrar.
