(1) There shall be a Dean for each Faculty of the University who shall be chosen in such manner and for such period as may be prescribed. (2) The Dean shall be the Chairman of the Board of Studies of the Faculty concerned and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the faithful observance of the Statutes and regulations relating to the Faculty. In carrying out his responsibilities the Deans shall work in close collaboration with other officers including the Associate Deans, Directors of Research and Extension and shall generally work through the Heads of the Departments of the Faculty. (3) The Deans shall have such other duties and perform such other functions as may be assigned to them by the Statutes.
