If in the opinion of the Board it is necessary to have one or more Pro-Vice-Chancellors as full-time officers of the University the Board may make recommendation in this behalf and the Chancellor may approve the proposal for creation of such posts. A Pro-Vice- Chancellor shall be appointed by the Board in consultation with the Minister for such period and on such terms and conditions as may be fixed by the Board. A Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall have such duties and shall perform such functions as may be prescribed.
