In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or Definitions. context,— (a) "backward classes" means such classes as the State Government may, by notification, specify from time to time; (b) "the Corporation" means the West Bengal Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation established undef section 3; (c) "marketing" includes all activities in connection with the transport, grading, pooling, marketing and sale of industrial produce, whether in the primary form or in semi-processed or processed form; 285 The West Bengal Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation Act, 1995. (d) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (e) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (1) "traditional occupation" means a community based occupation followed by the backward classes.
