Any person, who acts in contravention of the provisions of this Act or any rules or regulations made thereunder or any direction thereof, shall, if no penalty is provided elsewhere, be punishable with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to one year, or with fine, which may extend to one lakh rupees, or with both.
