(1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, no person shall practice for personal gain as an Allied-Medical or Para-Medical Professional within the State. (2) Any person, who contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1), shall, on conviction, be punishable— (a) in the case of a first offence with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to six months, and with fine, which may extend to five thousand rupees; and (b) in the case of second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to one year but shall not be less than three months and with fine, which may extend to five thousand rupees but shall not be less than two thousand rupees.
