Power of appellate authority to entertain appeal after expiry of specified period.—Where, under this Act any period has been specified for the filing of any appeal, the appellate authority may, if it is satisfied that the appellant was prevented by sufficient cause from preferring the appeal within the period so specified, entertain the appeal after the expiry of the said period.
