(1) Every sum certified by an auditor in his, report under section 51 to be due from any person, unless such certificate is modified or canceled by an order of the Board made under section 52 and every sum due on a modified certificate, shall be paid by such person within sixty days after the service of notice of demand for the same issued by the Board. (2) If such payment is not made within the period mentioned above, the sum 277 payable may, on a certificate issued by the Board after affording the person concerned an opportunity of being heard, the recovered in the manner provided in section 83.
