Added by section 43(b) (ii) ibid. [The [Uttar Pradesh]4 Municipalities Act, 1916] [Section 12D-12F] (2) The name of any person who becomes disqualified under sub-section (1) after registration shall forthwith be struck off the electoral roll in which it is included : Provided that the name of any person struck off the electoral roll by reason of any such disqualification shall forthwith be reinstated in that roll, if such disqualification is during the period such roll is in force, removed under any law authorizing such removal. Registration to be in one ward only 12-E (1) No person shall be entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for more than one ward or more than once in the electoral roll for the same ward. (2) No person shall be entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for any ward, if his name is entered in ay electoral roll pertaining to any city, other [Municipal area, Cantonment or area of Gram Panchayat]1 unless he shows that his name has been struck off from such electoral roll. [Correction of electoral roll 12-F (1) Where the Electoral Registration Officer is satisfied, after making such enquiry as he thinks fit, whether on an application made to him or on his own motion, that any entry in the electoral roll should be corrected or deleted or that the name of any person entitled to be registered should be added in the electoral roll, he shall subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules and orders made thereunder, delete ,correct or add the entry, as the case may be : Provided that no such deletion , correction or addition shall be made after the last date for making nomination for an election in the ward and before the completion of such election : Provided further that no deletion or correction affecting the interest of any person adversely shall be made without giving him reasonable opportunity of being heard in respect of the action proposed to be taken in relation to him. (2) An appeal shall lie within such time and manner and to such officer or authority as may be prescribed by rules against any order of the Electoral Registration Officer in regard to the inclusion, deletion or correction of a name in the electoral roll.]5 Revision of electoral rolls 12-G [The State Election Commission]2 may, if it thinks it necessary to do for the purpose of a general or bye-election , direct a [***]3 revision of the electoral roll for any ward in such manner as it may things fit: Provided that subject to the other provision of this Act, the electoral roll for the ward, as in force at the time of issue of any such direction shall continue to be in force until the completion of the [***]3 revision, so directed.
