Whoever--- (a) knowingly assists or induces, directly or indirectly a child or youthful offender detained in or placed out on licence from an approved school to escape from the school or from the school or from any person with whom he is placed out on licence, or any child or youthful offender to escape from the care of the person to whose care he is committed under the provisions of this Act, or 55 [The Uttar Pradesh Children Act, 1951] [Section 42-44] (b) knowingly harbours, conceals, connives at or prevents from returning to school or to any person with whom he is placed out on licence or to whose care he is committed under this Act, a child or youthful offender, who has so escaped, or knowingly assists in or connives at so doing, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two months or with a fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, or with both.
