(1) This Act may be called the United Provinces Opium Smoking Act, 1934. (2) It extends to the whole of [Uttar Pradesh]4. (3) It shall come into force on such date5 as the [State Government]6 may, by notification, appoint on this behalf; and on and from that date the United Provinces Opium Smoking Act, 1925, shall be repealed. 1- For S.O.
