(1) The Vice-Chancellor may, with the approval of the Executive Council appoint the senior most professor as Pro-Vice-Chancellor from amongst the professors of the University /Colleges. (2) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold the office at the pleasure of the Vice- Chancellor. (3) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be entitled to such honorarium as may be determined by the state Government form time to time. (4) The Pro Vice-Chancellor shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by the Vice-chancellor in this behalf from time to time and shall preside over the meeting of the University in the absence of the Vice-Chancellor and shall exercise such other powers and perform such duties as may be assigned or delegated to him by the vice-Chancellor.
