(1) In direct recruitment in public services and posts, in the vacancies to be recruited, 20 percent Horizontal reservation shall be given till 24 July, 2006 and 30 percent after that in the favour of concerned women candidates permanently domiciled in the State of Uttarakhand. (2) In public services and posts, horizontal reservation for the women candidates domiciled in the State of Uttarakhand belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically weaker sections and other categories shall be in accordance with the order of Uttarakhand Government in force at the time of recruitment: Provided that if suitable women candidates are not available on the posts reserved for women under the State services, those posts shall not be carried forward rather, it shall be filled with qualified male candidates coming in the order of proficiency of the same category.
