(1) Where any area is declared to be brought under settlement under this Act, the Settlement Officer or if the Settlement Officer so directs, the Assistant Settlement Officer shall inspect every village in such area and prepare a record in respect of each khat; showing -- (a) the area of each holding; (b) the name of the zamindar of the holding; (c) the name of the cultivator of the holding; (d) whether the land included in the holding falls under any of the classes specified in section 34; (e) class of soil of each of the plots comprised in each holding; and (f) such other particulars as may be prescribed. (2) In preparing the records referred to in sub-section (1), the officer shall proceed on the basis of the records prepared under the provisions of the Jaunsar-Bawar Security of Tenure and Land Records Act, 1952 and carry out therein such modifications corrections as may be necessary for bringing it up-to-date.
