Section 67

Penalty for excise officer making vexatious search, etc

If any excise officer — (a) without reasonable grounds of suspicion enters, inspects or searches, or causes to be entered, inspected or searched, any place ; or (b) vexatiously and unnecessarily seize any property of any person on the pretence of seizing or searching for any article liable to confiscation under this Act ; or (c) vexatiously and unnecessarily details, searches or arrests any person ; he shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1 [one year] or with fine which may extend to 2 [five thousand rupees] or with both.
