Section 7

Jurisdiction inferior to that of Magistrate of the second class excluded

(1) No court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the second class shall try any offence under this Act. (2) No court shall take cognizance of any offence under this Act, except on the complaint of a Fishery Officer or of a Police Officer not below the rank of Sub-Inspector or of any other person or class of persons authorized by the 1 [State Government] in this behalf.
