98. Where the Indian Registration Act, 1908 or any rule made thereunder, requires or permits any act to be done with reference to a document by a person executing or claiming under the same and the document has been executed on behalf of a Municipality or is a document under which a Municipality claims, the act may, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the aforesaid enactment or in any rule thereunder, be done by the 1 [President] 2 the executive officer or a secretary of the Municipality, or by any other officer of the Municipality empowered by regulation in this behalf.
