Section 226

Emergent powers on outbreak of epidemic

226. In the event of a municipality, or nay part thereof, being visited with an outbreak of cholera or other infectious disease notified in this behalf by the 1 [State Government], the [President] 2 of the Municipality, or any person authorized by him in this behalf, may during the continuance of the epidemic, without notice and at any time, inspect and disinfect any well, tank or other place from which water is, or is likely to be taken for the purpose of drinking, and may further, take such steps as he deems fit to prevent the removal of water therefrom 3 .
