Section 87

Power to make rules

87. (1) The State Government may make rules in respect of matters to be prescribed but which are not prescribed in the Act or by order. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power such rules may provide for (a) the manner of notification of election of 1 [Mayor] 2 [ * * * ], 3 [***] 1 [Corporator], and of a vacancy in the office of 1 [Mayor], 2 [ * * * ], 3 [***] or 1 [Corporator] ; (b) manner of election of member so of Executive Committee, Development Committee and committees constituted under clause (e) of section 5 and of co-option of members of the Development Committee ; (c) manner of election of Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee and Vice-Chairman of committees constituted under clause (e) of section 5 ; (d) maximum salary and allowances of 1 [Municipal Commissioner]; (e) manner of reference under section 82 of any question as to disqualification of member ; (f) procedure for ascertaining if a member is suffering from a serious infectious disease for the purposes of sections 25 and 83 ; and (g) matters relating to taking of oath under section 85.
