Succession to property assets, rights, liabilities and obligations in certain cases

1 [580-A. (1) On and from the date of commencement of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Local Self Government Laws (Amendment) Act, 1994 and subject to the provisions of section 140 (a) all property, interest in property and assets, including cash balances wherever situate, which immediately before such date were vested in the 2 [Municipal Corporation] shall vest in and be held by the Corporation for the purposes of this Act ; and (b) all rights, liabilities and obligations of the aforesaid 2 [Municipal Corporation] whether arising out of any contract or otherwise existing immediately before such date, shall be the rights, liabilities and obligations of the Corporation. (2) Where any doubt or dispute arises as to whether any property, interest or asset has vested in Corporation under sub-section (1), or any rights, liability or obligation has become the right, liability or obligation of Corporation such doubt or dispute shall be referred by the 3 [Municipal Commissioner] to the State Government whose decision shall unless superseded by any decision of a court of law shall be final.]],
