Power to sanction bye-laws framed by Gram Panchayats And their tax proposals

36. Notwithstanding anything contained in the United Provinces Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, and any rules made thereunder or any other law for the time being in force - (a) the power to approve and sanction the proposal of a 1 [Gram Panchayat] in a district to impose any tax or rate described in section 37 of the said Act and the power under sections 111 and 112 of the said Act to frame and sanction the bye-laws for any 2 [Gram Panchayat] within the district shall as from the appointed date vest in and belong to the 3 [Zila Panchayat] of the district ; and (b) 4 [ * * * * ]
