(1) Every person shall on appointment to the Fire and Emergency Service, receive a certificate in the prescribed form under the signatures of the Director General or an officer authorized in this behalf by the State Government and thereupon such person shall have the powers, functions and privileges of an employee of the Fire and Emergency Service under this Act. (2) The certificate referred to in sub-section (1) shall cease to have effect when the person named therein ceases for any reason to be an employee of the Fire and Emergency Service and on his ceasing to be such employee, he shall forthwith surrender the certificate to any officer empowered to receive the same. (3) A certificate of appointment shall become null and void when the person named therein ceases to belong to the Fire and Emergency Service or shall remain inoperative during the period such person is suspended from the Fire and Emergency Service. (4) The employees of the Fire and Emergency Service shall be governed by such rules as are applicable to State Government servants in relation to the terms and conditions of their service and all other allied matters.
