(1) As soon as may be after the commencement of this Act the State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf, a date on and from which there shall be an autonomous district comprising the tribal areas specified in the First Sche- dule appended to this Act. (2) The State Government may, by order notified in the Official Gazette- (a) include any other area into the said district; (b) exclude any area from the said district; (c) re-define the boundary of the said district: Provided that no order under sub-section (2) shall be made except after consultation with the District Council for the autonomous district: Provided further that any order made under sub- section (2) may contain such incidental and conse- quential provisions as appear to the State Government to be necessary for giving effect to the provisions of the order.
