The Vice-Chancellor: (i) The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor, with approval of the Trust. in such a manner as may be prescribed in the statutes, for a period of live years: (ii) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the Principal Executive and academic officer of the University and shall be the Chairman of the Exccutive Council and the Academic Council of the University and shall exercise general supervision and control over the affairs of the University and give clfect to the decisions of the authorities of the University; (iii) The Vice-Chancellor may, il he is of the opinion that immediate action is necessary on any maller, exercise any power conferred on any authority of the University by or under this Act and shall with duc approval of the Chancellor, convey to such an authority the action taken by him on such matters: (iv) Provided that any authority or any person in the service of the University who is aggrieved by the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor under this sub-section, may prefer an appeal to the Chancellor within one month Irom the date of communication of the order. The Chancellor may confirm. modify or reverse action taken by the Vice Chancellor; (v) The Vice-Chancellor shall exercise such powers and perform such other functions as may be prescribed.
