Appointment of Estate Officers. The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette— (a) appoint such persons, being Gazetted officers of the Government, officers of equivalent in rank of the corporate or statutory authority, as it thinks fit to be Estate Officers for the purposes of this Act : 1 *Published in the Tripura Gazette, dated 21-3-1983. Provided that an officer of a corporate or statutory authority shall be appointed, in consultation with that authority, as an Estate Officer in respect of only those public premises which are controlled by that authority ; and (b) define the local limits within which, or the categories of public premises in respect of which, each Estate Officer shall exercise the powers conferred, and perform the duties imposed, on Estate Officers by or under this Act.
